Arrangements

Notturno

for soprano and twelve cellos

Alexander Borodin

The beautiful Notturno, third movement of Borodin’s String Quartet Nº2 is sensitively treated for 12 cellos and a la vocalise part for contralto (soprano).  Each cello plays an individual part transposed into a comfortable key while retaining all the lines and harmony of the original work.

Hey Jude

for saxophone quartet

John Lennon, Paul McCartney

Just a classic arranged in a choral style that transitions through something rhythmic

Hey Jude

for bassoon quartet

John Lennon, Paul McCartney

Just a classic arranged in a choral style that transitions through something rhythmic

Vincent (starry, starry night)

for bassoon quartet

Don McClean

Just a classic arranged in a choral style that transitions through something rhythmic

Sweet Dreams (are made of this)

for string quartet

Annie Lennox, David Stewart

I’ve attempted to create a really dramatic version of this iconic song for string quartet.  Taking elements from the original it is arranged here to include alternative harmonies.  The closing is really great and a challenge for the second violinist.  Think Beethoven Harp Quartet!

You will find challenging sections and rhythmic interest that I hope translates into a well arranged piece of music.

Somebody to Love

for string quartet

Freddie Mercury

This iconic rock ballad from Queen deserves as much play time as any of the other bands’ songs

Dream a little Dream of me

for string quartet

The Mamas & The Papas

This great tune has been arranged to include a walking-bass line in the middle section which is super fun
